The Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center (ASC) houses the regulatory laboratories for the Department of Agriculture. The labs include the Food & Drug Protection Division Chemistry, Microbiology, and Pesticide Residue labs; the Veterinary Division Animal Disease Diagnostic lab; the Standards Division Weights and Measures lab, and the Standards Division Fuel Quality testing lab. These laboratories support all regulatory work performed by the Department, ensuring consumer protection for human and animal food, commerce, and animal health.
The Facility Maintenance section is responsible for all buildings and maintenance for the ASC and satellite laboratories. The Maintenance Construction Technician II assists with maintenance and repairs of buildings, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, equipment, and grounds. This includes monitoring systems like chillers, boilers, HVAC, incinerators, and repairing plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues.

Applicants must demonstrate:
High school diploma or GED plus one year of experience in maintenance trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Trade areas include maintenance, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, groundskeeping, or incinerator operation.
May require EPA certification as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician.
Include all relevant education and experience; resumes alone are not accepted. Veterans/National Guard preference applicants should submit relevant documentation. Positions may require pre-employment drug testing and DMV/medical certifications for CDL roles.
