The primary purpose of this position is to support mechanical trades at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and vehicle repair. Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting with HVAC and plumbing on routine and emergency repairs.
2. Assisting with electrical repairs and maintenance of facility lighting.
3. Supporting preventative maintenance, service, and repair on residential and commercial washer/dryers, ranges, and facility transportation.
4. Assisting other trades within JIRDC's Maintenance Department as needed.

This position is Mandatory and requires reporting or staying over during adverse weather events.

Position 60038522 - Maintenance - Monday to Friday, 1st shift (7:30 am - 4:00 pm). Work schedule may vary and include evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency hours. On-call duties are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants must document experience in at least two mechanical trades such as electrical, plumbing, vehicle repair, HVAC, or welding. Certification and experience in welding are preferred.

Physical Requirements

Heavy work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical or building trades. Relevant certifications, such as EPA Type I, II, III, or Universal technician, may be required.
