Job summary

Complete Care at Grande Prairie is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant for the day shift. You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment while applying electrical and HVAC knowledge in a long-term care setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, can work independently or with a team, hold a valid driver’s license, and possess basic computer skills. LTC experience and an apprenticeship are a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Previous LTC maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with basic building repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting).

The Role

Position: Full-Time Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot building mechanical problems effectively.

• Perform repairs and conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure satisfactory operations.

• Apply technical knowledge of electrical systems, as well as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

• Maintain Safety: Follow all established safety rules, policies, and procedures of the maintenance department.

• Collaborate: Complete other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director and Administrator.

• Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Valid Safe Drivers License required

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Previous experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting is preferred but not required.

  • Experience performing basic building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

  • Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship is preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner.
