Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Summerville, SC. You will perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks for the building and grounds, assist with repairs, and help maintain safety and accessibility for residents.

The role requires 2 years of maintenance experience, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A flexible schedule including weekends/holidays is expected in this community-focused role.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a maintenance role.
• Knowledge of practices and materials used in building maintenance.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull; lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in building maintenance.
• Disassemble and move furniture; assist with repairs.
• Check maintenance logs/work orders and respond promptly to requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces; maintain exterior grounds.
• Carry out basic electrical work (change light bulbs).
• Transport residents safely in community vehicle for appointments.
• Support maintenance director with safety drills and schedules.
