Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Summerville, SC to perform building, grounds, and equipment maintenance under the Maintenance Director. You will handle repairs, painting, electrical tasks, and safety drills while ensuring residents’ comfort and safety in a warm senior living community.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in a maintenance role, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of maintenance experience required.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
• Able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in maintenance.
• Order materials and handle calls.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances.
• Disassemble and move furniture.
• Check maintenance logs and respond to requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Prepare and paint surfaces.
• Maintain exterior grounds and assist with landscaping and trash removal.
• Perform basic electrical work and replace light bulbs.
• Transport residents in community vehicle to appointments.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance schedule.
• Assist maintenance director with resident safety drills.
• All other duties as assigned.
