The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility running smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on work and want to learn and grow, we’d love to hear from you!

You will support the Maintenance Department with repairs, routine maintenance, and small projects, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone with general maintenance or mechanical experience who is eager to learn and contribute.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, landscaping, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when needed.
• Ability to read, write, and speak basic English; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general building maintenance and repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and the facility.
• Help with minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting projects.
• Assist with equipment moves, assembly, and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department by assisting with the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility and equipment. This position performs routine maintenance tasks, helps with preventative maintenance, and assists the Maintenance Supervisor with projects as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, enjoys problem solving and hands-on work.

This is a great opportunity for someone with general maintenance, construction, handyman, or mechanical experience – or someone who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn.

What You'll Do
