Job summary

The Greater BoerneChamber of Commerce is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to support our facilities team. You will perform routine maintenance, assist with repairs, and help with preventive tasks to keep equipment and the building in good condition.

This full-time, in-person role offers on-the-job training and opportunities to grow skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and project support within a collaborative, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Maintenance, handyman, construction, landscaping, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak basic English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and the facility.
  • Help with minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting projects.
  • Assist with equipment moves, assembly, and facility improvement projects.
  • Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

We're looking for a dependable, hard-working Maintenance Assistant to help keep our manufacturing facility running smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on work, like solving problems, and want an opportunity to learn and grow, we'd love to hear from you!

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department by assisting with the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility and equipment. This position performs routine maintenance tasks, helps with preventative maintenance, and assists the Maintenance Supervisor with projects as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, enjoys problem solving and hands-on work.

This is a great opportunity for someone with general maintenance, construction, handyman, or mechanical experience – or someone who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn.

What You'll Do
