Maintenance Assistant (Maintenance)
Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift they occur. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine tasks in resident living areas. Other duties may be assigned or directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
Maintain resident confidentiality by not disclosing protected health information and promptly report any suspected violations to the Administrator. Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled. Follow work assignments and file complaints or grievances with your supervisor.
Receive and adhere to maintenance schedules and policies. Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways—such as cutting, trimming, sweeping, and policing—per instructions. Conduct repairs on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks, following established procedures.
Clean windows and screens, replace burned-out bulbs (including exit, overhead, fluorescent, and call lights), and perform cleaning duties as needed. Service heating and cooling units according to manufacturer instructions and policies. Complete unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed. Replenish maintenance supplies in work areas as necessary.
Ensure the facility and equipment are maintained for resident comfort and safety. Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly. Follow safety precautions during tasks and equipment use. Assist in lifting heavy objects when needed. Clean and store equipment properly at shift end.
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care and protected health information, reporting any unauthorized disclosures. Inform residents when moving their personal belongings is necessary.
Supervisory Requirements: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Skills:
Physical Demands: Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; prolonged use of computers; ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate; assist in evacuations if necessary.
Work Environment: Typically low to moderate noise levels; accommodations available for disabilities.
