Job Overview

The primary purpose of your position is to assist with coordinating day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department, including hands-on repair work, in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations. You will work under the direction of the facility administrator to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Maintenance Director

Essential Job Functions

• Make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
• Possess knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures in nursing facilities.
• Deal tactfully with staff, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, and keep work areas clean and safe. Perform regular inspections of resident rooms and units for order and safety.
• Show patience, tact, and enthusiasm when handling residents of varying maturity levels.
• Seek out and incorporate new maintenance methods and principles.
• Relate information concerning residents’ conditions appropriately.
• Ensure no direct threat to health or safety in the workplace.
• Assist the Maintenance Director in preparing staff for inspections and surveys.
• Participate in the preparation of the Plan of Correction response to inspections.
• Promote customer service and hospitality.
• Follow safety rules and accident prevention procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or designee.
