Job summary

Avanath Capital is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join the community maintenance team. You will perform minor repairs, manage time efficiently, and coordinate with residents and staff to keep the community at high standards.

This role reports to the Community Manager and requires 2+ years of grounds or porter experience, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of grounds or porter experience.
• Knowledge of operating maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of safety hazards and proper cleaning solutions.
• Good interpersonal skills with staff, residents, and visitors.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with every interaction and high-quality maintenance.
• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnose defects, and repair per policies and codes.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant apartments, schedule vendors, and inspect work.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities; perform cleaning and painting as needed.
• Conserve costs by repairing rather than replacing parts and report safety concerns.
• Track inventory, return unused items, and notify supervisor for re-orders.
