Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) District 03 in St. Mary Parish seeks a Maintenance Clerk who can work with minimal supervision, manage daily work reports, control materials and equipment records, and coordinate leave and substitutions for the maintenance unit.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in administrative services, understand federal/state policies, and demonstrate accountability.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in administrative services.
• Experience substitution: every 15 semester hours credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, enters and edits Daily Work Reports for Highway Foreman and staff with materials, equipment and man hours.
• Ensures materials are noted on pickup sheets with location, date/time and equipment numbers.
• Checks daily work reports for hours, overtime, and leave and charges appropriately.
• Maintains leave buckets (FMLA, Military) and schedules substitutions.
• Enters fuel, oil, and work orders; maintains inventory.
• Answers calls from the public and addresses roadway hazards and closures.
• Assists employees with time entry and training needs.
