Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) District 03, St. Mary Parish, seeks a Maintenance Clerk to process daily reports, track materials, and support highway maintenance staff.

Applicants should have at least three years of administrative experience; experience substitution credits college hours. The role reports to the Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent and involves regular independent work and attention to roadway conditions.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in administrative services.
• Experience substitution: 15 semester hours equals six months experience.
• Knowledge of DOTD work activity codes and roadway system is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, enter, and edit Daily Work Reports for Highway Foreman and maintenance staff; include materials, equipment, and man hours.
• Ensure materials and equipment are properly logged with location, date/time, and activity codes.
• Check daily work reports for hours, overtime, and leave; ensure proper charging.
• Create and maintain FMLA and Military leave buckets; schedule substitutions.
• Enter fuel, oil, and work orders; record notifications.
• Maintain inventory.
• Answer calls from the public; file complaints and address roadway hazards/closures.
• Assist employees with time entry and training needs.
