Job summary

State of Louisiana is hiring a Facility Maintenance Manager A to supervise and direct maintenance and repair of facility utilities in District 07. This role offers hands-on work, paid training, and opportunities for career growth within DOTD.

Appointment type may be probational or promotional; work schedule is 6:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Thursday. Salary depends on qualifications and experience, with state benefits included.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.
• Two-year training program plus three years experience in building construction trade or maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.
• Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years experience in building construction trade or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews construction/maintenance documents and expenditures for contracts, projects, and RFPs.
• Approves purchasing requests up to approved limits.
• Maintains records incidental to all activities of the facility.
• Prepares facility related information and reports for justifications for all expenditures and manpower.
• Consults with other state agencies, directors, architects, project managers, contractors and contract engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR

Completion of a two‑year training program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus three years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR

Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.
