Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Are you a highly organized and proactive individual who enjoys making sure things run smoothly? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in keeping spaces neat and efficient? If so, DKC, a dynamic 200-person public relations firm in the heart of NYC, is looking for a friendly and resourceful Mailroom / Facilities Coordinator to join our team!

In this essential role, you will be the go-to person for ensuring our office operates seamlessly. From managing supplies to coordinating catering and maintaining a tidy environment, you'll play a vital part in supporting our team's success.

*Hours are Mondays and Fridays 10-3, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:30-4PM

What You'll Do:

  • Catering Coordination: Order, set up, and break down catering for meetings and events.
  • Pantry Management: Maintain pantry inventory, ensuring snacks and beverages are readily available throughout the day.
  • Office Supplies: Manage office supply inventory, proactively replenishing copy paper and other essential materials.
  • Building Liaison: Communicate with building management regarding maintenance requests and other facility-related issues.
  • Waste Management: Ensure trash and cardboard boxes are properly broken down and processed for disposal.
  • Trash Maintenance: Change employee desk trash bags regularly.
  • Mailroom Operations: Manage the mailroom, including receiving and distributing incoming mail and assisting with outgoing mail as needed.
  • Common Area Upkeep: Responsible for vacuuming common areas and conference rooms to maintain a clean environment.
  • General Support: Serve as a proactive and friendly resource to assist in keeping the office running smoothly, neatly, and efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an office support or facilities role
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., email, word processing).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., boxes of paper, catering supplies).
  • Ability to push and pull carts or other equipment as needed.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to organize supplies and perform cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to stand and walk for moderate periods.
  • Comfortable using a vacuum cleaner.
