Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) hires dedicated Registered Nurses for the Critical Care/3W IMCU Department in the Surgical Stepdown unit. The role involves delivering patient-centered care in a 38-bed unit serving postoperative and surgical patients, including trauma and transplant cases.

The RN will work in a supportive nursing organization with opportunities for training, development, and growth, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Basic computer proficiency required to update patient records and documentation.
• Fluency in another language is a plus for diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
