Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Boston, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Stepdown IMCU. You will provide direct nursing care in a 38-bed critical care unit, delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced, mission-driven hospital.

This role requires MA RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS in certain units; 1+ year RN experience preferred. The schedule is 24-hour day/night rotation with rotating weekends, and BMC offers strong compensation and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
