Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Boston, MA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Step Down/ Critical Care unit. The role offers 36-hour night shifts with rotating weekends, in a Magnet® recognized organization dedicated to delivering exceptional and equitable care.

As a nurse in the Critical Care unit, you will provide patient-centered care to complex cardiology and MICU/SICU patients, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in ongoing quality initiatives to improve

Qualifications

• Active RN license in MA or ability to obtain one.
• 1+ year RN experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN; BSN preferred
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to meet physical job requirements

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects
