Boston Medical Center (BMC) hires Registered Nurses for the Critical Care/3W Intermediate Care Unit. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based nursing care in a Magnet-recognized setting, with a mission to provide equitable care to patients and communities in Boston.

Position emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and opportunities across the hospital’s leading-edge clinical care environment. Schedule includes 36 hours with day/night shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have active or pending Massachusetts RN license or the ability to obtain one.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
