Job Description

Operates and sets up conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose machines and machining centers to machine steel and brass components. This is a 2nd Shift position, offering $26.90 to $29.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area, following safety regulations.
• Follow standard work, control plans, processes, and quality guidelines.
• Operate multiple machines and perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities.
• Verify machine cycle times, set up fixtures and tools, monitor machine operation, diagnose issues, and ensure finished work meets specifications.
• Respond to customer needs, promote quality and continuous improvement, and support team collaboration.
• Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines, anticipate problems, and apply creative solutions.
• Maintain flexibility in procedures and responsibilities, and possess necessary personal tools.
• Instruct others in machine care and techniques.

Background & Skills

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1-3 years related experience or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents.

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic skills, including fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Apply logic and understanding to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Near moving parts, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, noise, and occasional electrical hazards.
