Schedule: Tuesday through Friday from 4:30pm CST to 2:30am CST
Responsibilities include:
- Generating and checking part dimensions during various machining stages using complex measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, special purpose gauges, and scales.
- Achieving required tolerances and finishes to produce quality parts in a timely manner, meeting standards set by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality.
- Maintaining visual concentration to develop and sustain tolerance, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ensuring all characteristics at designated operations conform through inspection techniques.
- Performing setup and operation of equipment according to drawings and method sheets, supplementing with own knowledge when necessary.
- Training operators on equipment as needed, on a temporary basis if required.
- Maintaining orderly facilities, material, and work areas, practicing good housekeeping.
- Adhering to environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
- Participating actively in team environments, including daily meetings, cooperation, professional communication, and openness to new ideas.
- Accurately recording own time using prescribed systems and maintaining electronic records.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of manufacturing/machining experience
- At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints or production planning
- Experience with setup and operation of CNC machining processes such as drilling, milling, grinding, or turning
- Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges)
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs
Desired Characteristics:
- 3-5 years of machine shop or aerospace engine machining experience
- Experience with Mazak, Okuma, or Haas machines
- Understanding G & M code
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of CNC and manual machine operations
- Basic programming skills including reading and editing programs
- Experience working in a self-directed team environment
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
Compensation and Benefits:
