Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Toolroom Machinist to join our team in Freeport. The Toolroom Machinist performs tool grinding operations necessary to prepare and maintain tooling for manufacturing. Pay range is $26.09 to $29.00 per hour, DOE.

This is a 2nd Shift position (training on 1st Shift).

Job Responsibilities

• Work from tooling specifications, sketches, and observations to evaluate work needed.
• Possess extensive knowledge of tooling practices, machine applications, and precision measurement instruments.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and replace or adjust tooling as needed.
• Perform welding and brazing on production tools.
• Instruct and receive training from supervisors and colleagues regarding tooling tasks.
• Maintain cooperative relationships and communicate effectively with team members.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Background & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills, including algebra and geometry.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
