Qualifications

Responsibilities:

1. Study machining instructions such as job order, blueprint, process sheet, or layout on work piece to determine machining required, sequence of operation, tooling, feed, and speed rate.
2. Position and secure work piece to table, angle plate, vise, or chuck and verify position. Select and mount tools.
3. Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut using controls, and position tool and work piece in relation to each other, verifying visually, with instruments, and by reading dials.
4. Verify dimensions of machined work piece with measuring instruments like micrometers, telescoping gauges, vernier calipers, and dial indicators, working to close tolerances.
5. Use precision positioning devices such as dial indicators mounted on machine troughs with standard length rods to work to close tolerances.
6. Operate machine with automatic positioning controls.
7. Lay out reference lines and machining locations on work piece according to blueprints.
8. CNC programming using “Mazatrol” and “Fanuc” G code utilizing Visi Software.

Requirements:

1. Journey Machinist or 3 to 5 years of experience as a skilled machinist or successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
2. Mechanical skills and aptitude.
3. Proficient in Blueprint reading.
4. Basic Math and Reading skills. Knowledge of high-speed carbide tooling.
5. Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment while complying with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
6. Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and forklift.
7. Owns tools, measuring devices, and small hand tools.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Mazatrol and Fanuc Software.
• Previous Lathe experience.

Must be able to work 2nd shift hours as well as overtime including weekends as needed.
