Job summary

Hawthorne Cat is seeking a Machinery Service Technician/Mechanic 1 for the Lakeside Shop in Lakeside, California. The role involves diagnosing issues on Caterpillar and allied equipment, performing repairs, and maintaining service quality with minimal supervision.

Qualified candidates will have 2–5 years of Caterpillar experience, appropriate apprenticeship/tech schooling, and the ability to operate diagnostic software and service tools. A valid CA driver license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years repairing Caterpillar or heavy equipment.
• Apprenticeship or tech school in diesel tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diagnose issues on Caterpillar and allied equipment.
• Remove/install parts, disassemble/assemble components, test and adjust with minimal supervision.
• Write service reports documenting repairs daily.
