Job summary

Hawthorne Cat is seeking a Machinery Service Tech/Mechanic 2 for field work. You will diagnose, troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems on Caterpillar equipment with minimal supervision.

Datapoints include CAT diagnostic tools, job cost control, and training peers. A valid California Class B license and crane qualification are required or to be obtained through Hawthorne training. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five to eight (5-8) years of experience in repair of Caterpillar or heavy equipment.
• Successful completion of Level One Technician program.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test/adjust assemblies.
• Perform Caterpillar updates as directed by Caterpillar, Inc.
