Description

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Machine Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Machine Operator will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate machines to perform functions on metal work pieces.
• Maintain safe work habits and a clean work area, adhering to all safety policies.
• Lift and load work pieces into the machine.
• Take the first part to QC Lab for inspection or get assistance from Quality Tech.
• Set approved first piece at the machine for reference.
• Check dimensions and process notes on the Inspection Report.
• Perform final piece count, print tags, and enter production in Shop-Trak.
• Clean machine and area regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.

Skills

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work conditions include exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and the need for personal protective equipment.
