Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Riverside, MO is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday) with overtime as needed. You will operate a B-25 Band Saw, Shot Blaster, and 268 & 414 Groover, and perform in-process inspections to verify dimensions against drawings and work orders.

You will also maintain records, ensure proper calibration of gauges, navigate Medix per job/spool, and complete TPMs and 5S duties while communicating maintenance needs to line leads and shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in manufacturing/steel fabrication preferred.
• Familiarity with SWI/SOP processes preferred.
• Good reading of drawings/blueprints and ability to read tape measures.
• Basic computer literacy (Windows) expected.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $23/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday, Overtime as needed

Location: Riverside, MO

Machine Operator Responsibilities

• Learn and execute elements of safe machine operation involving the B-25 Band Saw, Shot Blaster, and 268 & 414 Groover
• Perform in-process inspections including dimensional verification and surface prep; perform additional inspections pertaining to product specification
• Maintain records of inspections and results pertaining to jobs; verify finished product’s dimensions and their conformance with drawings, work order specifications
• Verify proper calibration of all inspection instruments and gauges for workstation
• Know and understand how to properly navigate Medix per job/spool
• Complete all daily checklists and TPM’s
• Ensure all area 5S duties are getting completed
• Communicate and interact with Line Leads and Shift Supervisors on maintenance issues needed with the machinery

Machine Operator Requirements

• High school diploma
• Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment is preferred
• Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software is preferred
• Familiarity with SWI/SOP processes
• Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers, vernier scale) preferred
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired
• Good written and oral communication skills required
• Good problem-solving capabilities desired
• Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail-oriented
