Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Riverside, MO is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator. You will learn and perform safe machine operation using the B-25 Band Saw, Shot Blaster, and other equipment, while maintaining output and quality.

Responsibilities include in-process inspections, dimensional verification, recording results, ensuring calibration, and completing TPMs and 5S duties. Strong reading of drawings and tape measures is needed; good communication with leads and supervisors is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in manufacturing/steel fabrication preferred.
• Computer literacy (Windows) preferred.
• Familiarity with SWI/SOP processes is a plus.
• Ability to read drawings and tape measures.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $23/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday, Overtime as needed

We are searching for 1st shift candidates for our open Machine Operator position located in Riverside, MO. An ideal candidate will have prior machine operation experience in a metal manufacturing environment. This company does offer room to grow in areas such as fabrication, industrial painting, welding, and much more!

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Learn and execute elements of safe machine operation involving the B-25 Band Saw, Shot Blaster, and 268 & 414 Groover
• Perform in-process inspections including dimensional verification and surface prep; perform additional inspections pertaining to product specification
• Maintain records of inspections and results pertaining to jobs; verify finished product's dimensions and their conformance with drawings, work order specifications
• Verify proper calibration of all inspection instruments and gauges for workstation
• Know and understand how to properly navigate Medix per job/spool
• Complete all daily checklists and TPM's
• Ensure all area 5S duties are getting completed
• Communicate and interact with Line Leads and Shift Supervisors on maintenance issues needed with the machinery

Machine Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment is preferred
• Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software is preferred
• Familiarity with SWI/SOP processes
• Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers, vernier scale) preferred
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired
• Good written and oral communication skills required
• Good problem-solving capabilities desired
• Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail-oriented
