Volt in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Machine Operator to move and assemble pipe, set up machines, and handle fabrication processes in a fast-paced shop and yard.

Qualifications

• Experience with pipe threading and fabrication equipment.
• Experience using tape measures and gauges for quality checks.
• Experience inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.
• Experience in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment is a plus.
• Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and keep supplies organized.
• Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and procedures.

• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
• Thread and bevel pipes using Landis machines; inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

MOVE FORWARD WITH VOLTVolt is immediately hiring for a Machine Operator, in Kansas City, MO.

As a Machine Operator, you will be:

• Responsible for moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Responsible for assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies.
• Responsible for following safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Responsible for operating powered industrial equipment by OSHA guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining machines for pipe fabrication.
• Responsible for measuring, recording, and adding random pipe lengths accurately.
• Responsible for measuring and cutting pipe using band saws or torches.
• Responsible for threading and beveling pipes using Landis machines, inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of maintenance and machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
• Experience in using tape measures, and gauges for quality checks.
• Experience of inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment
• Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication.

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.

This is a full-time contract opportunity.
