Amentum is seeking a Machine Design Engineer II to join its Advanced Solutions Group. Candidates may be based at either of our offices in Tullahoma, TN, or Greenville, SC.

You will join a multi-discipline team, work on unique design projects, and prepare reports, calculations, and drawings. Travel 1-3 days per quarter, with a compensation range of $82k–$108k and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations.
• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of Three (3) years’ relevant Machine Design experience.
• Knowledge of gears, bearings, belts, machine screws, chains, cams, linkages, gearmotors, servomotors, etc.
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills – kinematics, dynamics, stress/strain, power transmission.
• FEA – static stress-strain, natural frequency.

Responsabilités

• Independently but with guidance from a more senior engineer, performs project assignments with limited complexity.
• Analyzes and/or evaluates the results of an analysis using techniques prescribed by senior engineers.
• Accomplishes tasks of well-defined scope and investigates a limited set of variables.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and calculations.
• Coordinates with designer/drafters.
• May formally review the work of others for techniques and technical approach.
• Supports interface development with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, controls, aerodynamics).
• Produces complete design packages with drawings, calculations, and specifications.
