Job summary

ND Paper in Wisconsin is seeking a Machine Assistant 1 to support the Operator with setup, changeovers and quality checks, bridging hands-on machine work with accountability.

You will perform first-article inspections, monitor quality, assist with ink mixing as directed, and ensure safe operation and timely changeovers. This role develops toward full Operator competency, with growth opportunities within a leading pulp and packaging company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months experience in manufacturing; converting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, board specifications and die layouts.
• Basic understanding of corrugated quality standards and tolerances.
• Bilingual English, Mandarin or Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment.
• Assist the Operator with all phases of job changeover, including plates, dies, glues and alignment per job specs.
• Set up glue systems, verify temperatures, bead placement and application weight at job start and monitor quality.
• Perform first-article quality inspections at startup and verify against specifications.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and document results, communicating deviations to the Operator.
• Make minor press adjustments under Operator direction and develop independent adjustment skill over time.
• Lead outfeed, stacking and quality sampling tasks.
