Job summary

ND Paper is seeking a Machine Assistant 2 for the Converting Floor. You will assist in setup, operation, and changeovers, serving as the primary quality check point during runs and ensuring safe, efficient production.

The role supports the Operator and Machine Assistant 1, with opportunities to develop toward operating competency. The position is 1st shift 6AM-2PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
No prior manufacturing experience required; corrugated or packaging experience is a plus.
Ability to read a job ticket and match box dimensions, board grade, and print description to physical product.
Basic math skills: count bundles, verify counts against job ticket, and identify discrepancies.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment.
Remove and stack finished bundles from the outfeed end; maintain clean output per ticket requirements.
Monitor bundle counts and flag irregularities to the 1st Assistant or Operator.
Perform periodic quality pulls inspecting fold, glue, print, and dimensional accuracy.
Document quality results on the job quality log and escalate defects promptly.
Feed sheets into the machine during startup or low-crew conditions with safety protocols.
Maintain clean work area and participate in end-of-shift housekeeping.
Assist with minor changeover tasks under supervision.
