Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers across multiple Charlotte-area divisions. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories, performing screenings, and assisting with procedures as ordered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training which is clinical in nature.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Perform rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screening, medication reconciliation.
• Assist with or perform procedures as ordered by provider.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per standing orders; adhere to CLIA.
• Administer medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handle tasks like refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork; escalate issues appropriately.
• Maintain clean, stocked work environment; ensure equipment operational.
