Job summary

Advocate Health in the Greater Charlotte area is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient-centered care in a busy clinic setting. You will perform rooming tasks, collect vitals, review history, and support health screenings.

You will assist providers with procedures, handle lab duties including venipuncture and POCT, and administer vaccines under the appropriate supervision. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 45 days as required by department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assist providers with or perform procedures as ordered and room patients for visits.
• Perform lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT per standing orders, with CLIA-waived testing where applicable.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of medication administration.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe work environment; ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team; escalate issues as needed.
