Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting – M&A to join its Finance team in San Francisco. You will lead complex accounting for acquisitions and other strategic investments, partnering with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure GAAP-compliant execution.

The role focuses on end-to-end purchase accounting, consolidation, and disclosure preparation, with emphasis on control governance and SOX-ready processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years owning M&A and strategic investments accounting end-to-end.
• Active CPA license required.
• Big 4 National Office/Transaction Advisory experience plus in-house tech company background.
• Experience with multiple closed acquisitions and meaningful transactions.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical accounting for business combinations, asset acquisitions, and related financing/equity structures.
• Perform due diligence on GAAP, controls, and earnings implications before terms are set.
• Lead end-to-end purchase accounting, including identification, measurement, and goodwill.
• Oversee post-close integration accounting and policy alignment.
• Prepare disclosures for quarterly/annual filings and pro forma information.
