Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting – Investments and M&A to own accounting for strategic investments, partnerships, and related capital transactions. You will partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, and FP&A to ensure accurate GAAP reflection and robust controls across the portfolio.

The role requires building the portfolio accounting process, governance, and reporting, while supporting M&A and external auditors in a fast-paced, tech-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA license highly desirable.
• Big 4 background with in-house tech company experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 321, 323, 810 and consolidation.
• Experience with valuation methodologies for private company investments.

Responsibilities

• Own technical accounting for strategic investments, joint ventures, and related financing instruments from entry to exit.
• Lead and review fair value measurements and Level 3 inputs for portfolio investments.
• Coordinate with Corporate Development and Legal on investment structures and deal terms.
• Prepare portfolio rollforwards and disclosures for quarterly and annual filings.
• Support M&A due diligence and purchase accounting activities.
