Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting – M&A and Investments to join the Finance team. Lead accounting for mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and complex capital transactions.

You will partner with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and leadership to ensure GAAP-compliant positions and prepare disclosures for filings. You will report to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting – M&A and Investments, helping shape controls, governance, and close-ready

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of complex M&A and strategic investment accounting.
• Active CPA license required.
• Big 4 experience in national office or deal advisory working with high-growth/public tech companies would be ideal.
• Experience with GAAP for business combinations, consolidation, equity method and fair value.
• Strong written and verbal communication translating complex deal accounting for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical accounting for business combinations and asset acquisitions.
• Lead due diligence and advise on GAAP, control, and earnings implications.
• Perform end-to-end purchase accounting and post-close integration accounting.
• Assess consolidation and investment classification, including VIE/primary-beneficiary analysis.
• Prepare disclosures for quarterly and annual filings and present conclusions to leadership.
