Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Strategic Transactions Lead to own the accounting workstream across transactions, from post-LOI diligence through post-close annual audits. You’ll collaborate with Corporate Finance, Legal, and Integration teams to build robust diligence frameworks and scalable playbooks.

You’ll oversee Day 1 close readiness, variable compensation structures, and integration mappings while ensuring SOX-compliant reporting.

Qualifications

6+ years of combined experience across technical accounting, Big 4 audit, or transaction advisory services.
2+ years of in-house financeops experience within high-growth, venture-backed technology environments.
Proven track record leading M&A accounting end-to-end across multiple closed acquisitions.
Deep expertise in US GAAP technical frameworks, including ASC 805, ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 820.
Active CPA license.

Responsibilities

Direct post-LOI accounting due diligence and assess earnings quality, tax liabilities, and vendor obligations.
Lead the accounting workstream across transactions and manage consolidation activities.
Oversee valuation specialists and allocation models; ensure Day 1 close readiness across systems.
Drive post-merger integration with SOX-compliant reporting and governance frameworks.
Mentor junior staff and develop deal accounting playbooks and templates.
