Job summary

Highgate Hotels, LP is seeking a Pastry Cook for the Kimpton Miralina Resort in Arizona to craft desserts, breads and pastries, following recipes and maintaining high sanitation standards.

The role requires at least 1 year of pastry experience, a culinary/pastry degree or related training, and comfort working in a luxury hotel kitchen. This full-time, hourly position includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities in a premium resort setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant work experience in pastry/kitchen required.
• Culinary/Pastry degree or related training preferred.
• Experience in luxury brand/markets preferred.
• Food Safety certification preferred or attained within 30 days.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes to properly and efficiently prepare and present all dessert, pastry and bread items.
• Check par list to ensure adequate prep for shift.
• Measure ingredients for dough or batter.
• Prepare fillings for pies, puddings and custards.
• Adjust oven temperatures for proper baking.
• Decorate cakes and pastries with professional finish.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all prep areas.
• Be knowledgeable about menu items and keep learned information updated.
• Communicate needs for goods to kitchen leadership.
• Perform other duties and cross-train as needed.
