Job summary

Montage Laguna Beach is seeking a Meeting and Events Manager to coordinate and execute group assignments from the Sales Department. You will monitor contracts for guest room blocks, meeting space, F&B and concessions, acting as a business partner to support company goals and values.

You will work with Culinary and Catering teams, review contracts and bills, and forecast revenues for assigned groups, with a focus on maximizing hotel revenue and delivering outstanding events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years' experience in Event Management or Conference Services.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Delphi and Opera experience is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverage products and service setup.
• Strong command of meeting room capacities and AV requirements.
• Excellent math and billing competency.
• Fluent English in speaking, reading and writing.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client relations and ensure conference specifications are communicated and executed for a successful meeting experience.
• Monitor and manage room blocks and meeting space according to contract to maximize hotel revenue.
• Review contracts and related details (room block, cut-off date, concessions, attrition) and coordinate with clients.
• Prepare Conference Resume 7-10 days prior to arrival and share updates with hotel departments; issue BEOs 14 days prior.
• Collaborate with Culinary team to execute catering events and banquets.
• Assist Director of Catering to establish SOPs for conference service.
• Forecast group room revenues and F&B within a 5% variance for assigned groups.
• Review and adjust bills, communicate feedback, and pursue maximum return business.
• Support Sales and Events team as needed.
