Job summary

Ethan Allen is seeking a Design Consultant in a full-time role in the Richmond area. You will design spaces, sell products and services, and greet clients in-store while building strong relationships and using social media to grow business.

Expect incentive-based compensation with a draw and potential earnings well into six figures for top performers. Strong design knowledge, sales skills, and tech proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of one year of practical interior design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field from an accredited institution.
• Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
• Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Proficient in social media and grassroots marketing to grow a book of business.
• Valid driver's license for business use.
• Proficiency with digital floor planning tech; 3D applications a plus.
• Experience with AR/VR visualization tools.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions aligned with customer preferences and budget.
• Sell Ethan Allen products and services.
• Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions; greet customers and obtain appointments.
• Utilize grassroots marketing and social media to develop the business.
• Educate customers about complimentary design services offered.
• Stay current on design and color trends for fashionable solutions.
• Coordinate with the team to provide excellent pre- and post-sale service.
• Participate in corporate marketing and training programs.
• Educate customers on Ethan Allen finance options available.
• Contribute to development and upkeep of the design center portfolio.
• Use technology to design projects, create presentations, and serve clients.
• Enter orders using the retail POS system.
• Maintain a neat and orderly design center environment.
• Collaborate on business and grass roots marketing plans with leadership.
• Utilize 3D Room Planner, CRM, Live Chat, and other tech to build volume.
• Leverage Facebook, Instagram and other channels to heighten presence.
• Perform other duties as required.
