Job summary

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York seeks a Housekeeping Manager to oversee every aspect of the department, supervise, train and inspect associates, and ensure that all procedures meet hotel standards. Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar capacity for a luxury property; union environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies/service procedures/standards, Rosewood brand, Forbes standards and LQA standards.
• Verify room status on AM and PM reports and update status of check out rooms
• Assist with preparing and distributing assignment sheets to staff and update assignments daily
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, spa, business center, gym, offices and service areas; report and correct discrepancies
• Check staff attire and grooming; coach and counsel as needed
• Inspect public areas and service areas after cleaning; relay deficiencies to staff and coach as needed
• Train, motivate and counsel staff; assist with disciplinary processes
• Perform multiple duties with efficiency and composure
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Ensure materials and equipment are ready for service; rectify deficiencies with staff
