Job summary

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, a luxury New York property, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead daily operations, oversee preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs for guestrooms and building systems. You will supervise and develop engineering staff, manage supplies, and support safety procedures.

You should have at least four years in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration, plus a high school diploma. Strong problem-solving and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• At least four years in building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing and refrigeration.
• High school diploma required; no specific license needed.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and water-treatment programs, blueprints and wiring.
• Familiar with meters, tools and refrigeration equipment, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering operations and assign work orders.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance for guestrooms and systems.
• Inspect completed work and document results.
• Respond to guest and operational concerns promptly.
• Manage supplies, inventory, and purchasing with Finance.
• Recruit, train and develop engineering staff.
• Prepare schedules, payroll and reports; lead in absence of leaders.
