HEI Hotels & Resorts seeks a dedicated line cook for Claremont Resort & Club in the Berkeley area to prepare consistent, high-quality dishes and support a smooth kitchen operation.

You will start items prepared ahead of time, manage timing to avoid over-preparation, and ensure perishables are dated and stored correctly. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery with or without accommodation.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lb with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes, standards, and checks from servers.
• Start items prepared ahead of time and avoid over-preparing estimated needs.
• Date and rotate perishables, maintain proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine prep, freezer pull and line setup; note shortages.
• Return unused items to storage, cover and date perishables.
• Assist in plans to control food costs, waste, and usage per standards.
• Operate and clean fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, ovens, and grills.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
