Job summary

Claremont Resort & Club in Berkeley is seeking a Main Kitchen Cook to join our culinary team. This full-time, on-site role requires preparing meals to standardized recipes and portion controls, starting prep early, and rotating perishables with proper temperatures.

Candidates should have hotel or culinary experience, strong dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Excellent communication is essential for working with servers and staff across shifts.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery or equipment.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food to recipe cards and standards, per servers' checks.
• Start items prepared ahead of time and manage portions.
• Date and rotate perishables, maintain proper storage temperatures.
• Check pars and assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Set up plans to control food costs and waste per standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment (fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, oven, etc.).
• Attend regularly and be available to work on schedule.
