Job summary

Claremont Resort & Club in Berkeley is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the production, preparation, and presentation of all hotel foods under the direction of the Executive Chef. The role requires strong leadership, cost control, and adherence to HEI/Franchise standards to deliver consistent quality.

You will supervise kitchen staff, manage scheduling and training, ensure sanitation, assist in menu planning, and support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

Minimum one year of post high school education, preferably at Culinary Institution.
Three to four years of employment in a related position.
Hotel experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of food preparation and management principles.
Knowledge of hotel operations, safety programs, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

Oversee production, preparation, and presentation of all hotel foods as directed by the Executive Chef.
Supervise kitchen staff, interview, schedule, train, coach, and conduct performance reviews.
Maintain sanitation and safety of kitchen and equipment to meet standards.
Control labor and food costs through scheduling and supervision.
Assist in menu planning and daily specials; implement production changes.
Ensure regular attendance and reliable availability.
