Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a kitchen leader at Claremont Resort & Club in Berkeley, CA. The role involves supervision of food production, staff management, and ensuring quality aligned with HEI and franchise standards.

The position requires post-high school education (culinary preferred) and 3–4 years in related roles, with hotel experience valued. You will manage costs, participate in menu planning, and ensure safety and sanitation across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Post high school education required, preferably culinary school.
• Three to four years of related experience.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, safety, budgeting, and long-range planning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production, preparation, and presentation of all hotel foods as assigned by the Executive Chef to ensure quality and compliance with HEI standards.
• Supervise HR in kitchen to attract, retain, and motivate associates, including coaching and performance reviews.
• Monitor sanitation of kitchen and equipment to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with standards.
• Control labor and food costs through scheduling and training to meet budgets while maintaining quality.
• Assist in menu planning and daily specials; implement production changes to attract new business.
