Job summary

Highgate Hotels in San Francisco seeks a Director of Housekeeping for The Huntington. You will lead the housekeeping team, ensure safety and cleanliness, and manage costs while sustaining excellent guest service across all areas of the property.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with other departments to meet high standards of service and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive hotel experience or a 4-year college degree.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Effective communication with guests and staff at all levels.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the operation of the Housekeeping Department in an attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints with follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
• Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline Housekeeping personnel per SOPs.
• Maintain regular cleaning programs and detailed checklists for each position.
• Balance and clear room status nightly and resolve discrepancies with PMS reports.
• Prepare schedules, review payroll hours, and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
