Job summary

JB Duke Hotel in Durham, NC seeks an accomplished General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for its AAA Four Diamond hotel and executive conference center on the Duke University campus. The GM will oversee Rooms, F&B, Conference Services, Sales, Finance, Engineering, Security, and HR, while building relationships with Duke University, Fuqua School of Business, and guests.

The role requires a visible leader who is financially astute and adept at uniting multiple disciplines

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including at least 3 years as a GM or comparable executive leader.
• Leadership experience within upscale, university, corporate, or executive conference-center environments.
• Demonstrated success managing complex, high-touch group and conference business with significant F&B, Banquet, AV, and meeting-space operations.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy, labor management, and P&L accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, hands-on leadership throughout the hotel and conference center.
• Develop and execute the annual business plan, operating budget, capital plan, and revenue strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
• Drive financial performance through revenue growth, profitability, labor productivity, forecasting, expense management, and disciplined operational execution.
• Lead the complete conference-center experience, coordinating Sales, Conference Planning, Banquets, Culinary, AV, Rooms, and Facilities.
