Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, JB Duke Hotel, and The Lodge at Duke Medical Center seek an Area Human Resources Manager to guide day-to-day HR operations across three properties. You will partner with associates and leaders on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, benefits, compliance, and HR systems while maintaining confidentiality and a strong guest-focused culture.

Reporting to the Area Director of Human Resources, you will support workforce initiatives,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and advising leaders.
• Prior HR leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service-industry HR experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, Hospitality or related field preferred.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or similar certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
• Experience with HRIS/Paycom is a plus and must maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR guidance and support to associates and leaders across three properties.
• Lead recruitment efforts, onboarding, and retention strategies.
• Drive associate engagement, recognition, and performance conversations.
• Coach leaders through performance management and development plans.
• Identify training needs and support leadership development initiatives.
• Administer benefits programs and communicate options to associates.
• Maintain HR records in Paycom and ensure data integrity.
• Assist with investigations and ensure compliant, fair processes.
• Support policy interpretation and implementation across all properties.
• Handle leaves, accommodations, and safety/workers' comp matters.
• Generate HR reports and analyze trends to inform decisions.
• Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and service.
