Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Catering & Conference Services Manager for the Hilton Boston Back Bay. This role focuses on selling catering events, servicing booked programs, and acting as the liaison between clients and hotel operations to ensure successful meetings and repeat business.

You will manage financials, budgeting, and forecast for catering, while fostering relationships to promote new and repeat business. Strong leadership and client-facing skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in a luxury hotel or related field.
• Must be proficient in Windows and Delphi; company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, dietary restrictions, health dept rules and liquor laws.
• Flexible with long hours; light lifting up to 20 pounds.
• Extensive knowledge of all hotel departments and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage existing accounts and follow up with clients to capture future business.
• Identify potential new business, develop a sales strategy and solicit.
• Meet or exceed all revenue goals.
• Respond to requests by Meeting and Event Planners promptly.
• Coordinate with outside planners and vendors for event setup and requirements.
• Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus and enhancements.
• Create and revise rooming lists, VIP lists, BEOs, and group resumes.
• Plan internal and external pre-event meetings as required.
• Adjust space using Delphi to maximize revenue potential.
• Be visible on the floor to assist staff during functions.
• Address client concerns promptly and provide service recovery when needed.
• Collaborate with hotel departments and keep leadership informed.
• Prepare timely reports and finalize post-event billing.
• Use planner feedback to improve service quality.
• Plan hotel holiday and special events as requested.
• Know meeting room setups, sleeping room configurations, and hotel operations.
